Al-Marsad Petitions for Information from the Home Front Command Regarding the Investigation into the Rocket Strike on the Majdal Shams Football Field (27.07.2024)
Al-Marsad – Arab Human Rights Center in Golan – has filed a petition with the Administrative Court in Tel-Aviv, under the Freedom of Information Law of 1998, demanding that the Israeli army responds to its request for information from the Home Front Command concerning the rocket strike on Majdal Shams football field on 27 July 2024.
The petition specifically seeks information on whether an official investigation into the incident was conducted & the conclusions reached if such an investigation took place, whether there was any identified failures or negligence by the authorities in preventing such an incident or mitigating its effects, and what measures were taken or will be taken to prevent such a grave occurrence in the future.
This petition follows a request submitted by Al-Marsad on 1 June 2025 for information under the Freedom of Information Law. More than 120 days have passed since the request was sent, yet no answers have been provided. The Freedom of Information Commissioner in the army has not responded to Al-Marsad questions, nor disclosed the requested information.
