This report follows three previous reports issued in January 2025, July 2025, and October 2025 by Al-Marsad – the Arab Human Rights Centre in the Golan, concerning violations committed by Israeli forces in areas they occupied in southern Syria following the fall of the Assad regime on 8 December 2024 .

Al-Marsad approached the Majdal Shams Local Council on 15/01/2026 with a set of clarifications—according to the Freedom of Information Law of 1998—after some citizens requested legal advice from Al-Marsad following the local authority’s commencement of collecting guarding fees (tax) from residents (copy of the letter attached).

Al-Marsad has called on the Israeli occupation authorities to immediately halt the aerial spraying of chemical pesticides using agricultural aircraft over Syrian lands within the Disengagement Zone (the buffer zone)

On Wednesday, January 28, 2026, Al-Marsad – Arab Human Rights Center in Golan Heights, met with a delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), where several topics related to Al-Marsad’s human rights work and the Red Cross’s activities in the occupied Golan were discussed.

Following Almarsad’s Petition to the Tel Aviv Administrative Affairs Court:
The Israeli Occupation Army Partially Responds to a Freedom of Information Request Regarding Its Activities in the Occupied Syrian Territories Since 8 December 2024

Al-Marsad- Arab Center for Human Rights in the occupied Syrian Golan sent a letter to the Israeli occupation authorities, demanding that they stop damaging the environment and forests in the occupied Syrian territories after the fall of the Assad regime.
