Al-Marsad Meets with representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross regarding the last developments on the Wind Turbines Project

On 15 December 2020, Al-Marsad met with representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to share and discuss the latest developments of the Israeli wind turbine project, implemented by Israeli company "Energex" on private farmlands in the occupied Syrian Golan. The meeting took place a week after hundreds of Israeli police forces and special units invaded the lands of Syrian farmers on 7 December and imposed a siege that lasted for three days. The Israeli police claimed that the siege was to protect the company’s workers and equipment while digging for soil samples where it plans to construct the wind turbines. The local community and farmers peacefully protested against this siege and project. The Israeli police forces resorted to using excessive forces against them, causing dozens of injuries and arresting eight persons.
